Bus Walk | Metro

A fast-paced, documentary-style film for Metro, directed and shot by Robert Barker. Featuring Micky’s story getting his bus pass, it was filmed run-and-gun with minimal lighting on location.

This short piece for Metro captures Micky, a spirited OAP, as he shares the simple joy of getting his bus pass — and what it means to him. Shot in a fast-paced, news-style format, the film was part of a series of run-and-gun stories built around everyday voices. With very little time on location, I directed and shot this on the fly, using natural light and instinctive framing to keep the energy raw and real. It’s a great example of how a stripped-back setup can still deliver honest, characterful storytelling.
